Preparatory
6 – 9 years old by October 1, 2025
SOLO/VARIATION (time limit 2:30 min)
Preparatory Category solo dancers are not restricted to the Classical Ballet repertoire list, they may perform age and skill-appropriate choreographed numbers, classical ballet repertoire variation, and/or Contemporary/Open style solo, no pointe shoes.
Pre-Competitive
10 – 12 years old by October 1, 2025
- CLASSICAL BALLET (time limit up to 3 min)
Any variation from the Classical Ballet repertoire list, no pointe shoes.
- CONTEMPORARY DANCE* (time limit up to 3 min)
Junior
12 – 14 years old by October 1, 2025
- CLASSICAL BALLET (time limit up to 3 min)
Any variation from the Classical Ballet repertoire list, pointe shoes are required.
- CONTEMPORARY DANCE* (time limit up to 3 min)
Senior
15 – 17 years old by October 1, 2025
- CLASSICAL BALLET (time limit up to 3 min)
Any variation from the Classical Ballet repertoire list, pointe shoes are required.

Pas de Deux and Duet
Pas de Deux
12 – 25 years old by October 1, 2025
CLASSICAL BALLET (time limit up to 6 min, 2 contestants)
Dancers will perform adagio/entre and coda from any Classical Ballet repertoire (no variations)
Duet
8 – 25 years old by October 1, 2025
OPEN STYLE OF DANCE (time limit up to 4 minutes, 2 contestants)
Dancers can perform any style of dance, including, but not limited to, Classical Ballet (not Pas de Deux), Modern Dance, Contemporary Dance, Jazz Dance, Character/Folk Dance, and others.
Group Categories
Small Ensemble
8 – 25 years old by October 1, 2025
OPEN STYLE OF DANCE (time limit up to 4 minutes, 3 – 4 contestants)
Dancers can perform any style of dance, including, but not limited to, Classical Ballet, Modern Dance, Contemporary Dance, Jazz Dance, Character/Folk Dance, and other styles.
Medium Ensemble
8 – 25 years old by October 1, 2025
OPEN STYLE OF DANCE (time limit up to 5 minutes, 5 – 9 contestants)
Dancers can perform any style of dance, including, but not limited to, Classical Ballet, Modern Dance, Contemporary Dance, Jazz Dance, Character/Folk Dance, and other styles.
Large Ensemble
8 – 25 years old by October 1, 2025
OPEN STYLE OF DANCE (time limit up to 6 minutes, 10+ contestants)
Dancers can perform any style of dance, including, but not limited to, Classical Ballet, Modern Dance, Contemporary Dance, Jazz Dance, Character/Folk Dance, and other styles.
Notes:
*Contemporary choreography is understood for this competition as pieces in either modern or contemporary vocabulary to be choreographed since 2020.
** Pre-Professional 18 – 19-year-old – Dancers who are NOT under any paid Professional Dance Company contract.
*** Professional 20 – 25 (18 – 19) years old – Dancers 18 – 19 years old who were or currently are UNDER any paid Professional Dance Company contract should register for the Professional Category with the 20 – 25 year old dancers.
