Professional Reference for Mr. Oleksi Bessmertni
Mr. Bessmertni brings not only an outstanding international background of dance performance to his resume, but as importantly a growing and distinguished role as artistic director, teacher, and choreographer of a vast array of both the classic and modern ballet repertoires. His recent work in ballet coaching for the Staatsballett Berlin, State Opera Prague, Belgrade National Theatre, Tokyo City Ballet and Ballet de Sao Vicente San Paolo, demonstrate Mr. Bessmertni’s life-long commitment to the art of dance.
From his early years as a student with the Odessa State Ballet School and the State Academy of Music and Dance in Kishinev, Moldova, Mr. Bessmertni showed a unique talent that quickly blossomed into solo roles with some of the world’s most highly regarded dance companies including the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin, Brighton Ballet Company Brooklyn New York, the Bavarian State Ballet in Munich, State Theater Karlsruhe, the National Hungarian Ballet in Budapest, State National Music and Dance Theater in Miskolc and Ballet of Opera House Odessa, Ukraine.
Always striving to enhance the artistic form of dance, Mr. Bessmertni has recently become involved as an artistic director of Premio Roma Dance Competition in Rome Accademia Nazionale di Danza, Italy; served as a member of jury in Sao Paulo, Brazil for the dance festival “Passo del Arte”, Boston International Ballet Competition, New York Ballet Competition, Moscow International Ballet Competition, Yokosuka International Ballet Competition in Japan, International Ballet Competition “Passion du Ballet á Kyoto, Japan, Korea International Modern Dance Competition in Seoul, Cyprus International Ballet Competition in Larnaka, “Dance Open” – International Dance Award in Saint-Petersburg and offered his artistic talents as choreographer of the full-length ballet “Urashima Taroh” with Toyota City Ballet in Nagoya and Toyota City, Japan in 2008-2010.
One of Mr. Bessmertni’s most notable world successes and that is his production and creation of the International Dance Festival TANZOLYMP, which has been held annually in Berlin from 2004. Known as TANZOLYMP, it is the only festival of its kind to bring young dancers from vocational and private schools to Berlin to represent their respective countries and cultures in the dance categories of: classical dance, modern dance, character folk dance, jazz and pop.
Mr. Bessmertni’s success in producing TANZOLYMP as one of the largest youth dance festivals in the world is shown by the Festival’s increasing world reputation growing from approximately 380 participants in 2004, the years of its inception, to over 20.000 participants in 2005-2023 from over 60 countries. TANZOLYMP 2023 once again proved the artistic and managerial ability of Mr. Bessmertni to succeed in making dance a world art form for peaceful international understanding honoring the youth of the world.
